Much of the demand for medical lasers is derived from elective procedures, such as laser-assisted eye surgery, which many consumers postponed as they tightened their belts in response to the recession. That said, an overall CAGR of 17.3% is indicative of a healthy outlook for the market in the near to mid-term future.
