1978 Baylor Genetics was founded by Dr. Tom Caskey and Dr. Art Beaudet, focused on cytogenetics and biochemical genetics for inborn errors of metabolism.
1996 Baylor College of Medicine Human Genome Sequencing Center (HGSC) designated one of six pilot programs for the final phases of the Human Genome Project (HGP).
2000 Human Genome Sequencing Center, one of three sites from the pilot program, completes the Human Genome Project.
2003 Introduced Specialties in cytogenetics, chromosomal microarray analysis, DNA diagnostics, biochemical genetics, and mitochondrial diagnostics.
