| 1996 | Baylor College of Medicine Human Genome Sequencing Center (HGSC) designated one of six pilot programs for the final phases of the Human Genome Project (HGP). |
| 2000 | Human Genome Sequencing Center, one of three sites from the pilot program, completes the Human Genome Project. |
| 2003 | Introduced Specialties in cytogenetics, chromosomal microarray analysis, DNA diagnostics, biochemical genetics, and mitochondrial diagnostics. |
