1938 Molex was founded in 1938 by Frederick Krehbiel in Brookfield, Illinois. Initially, the company focused on manufacturing coal-based plastic products, which gave it its name ("Molex"  originated from "molded plastic").
2013 Koch Industries acquired Molex for $7.2 billion in 0213. Under Koch Industries' ownership, Molex continued to expand its global presence and innovate in areas such as automotive, data communications, industrial automation, medical devices, and consumer electronics.
