| 1945 | The Linz factories are seized by the U.S. military in their capacity as “German assets” and renamed Vereinigte Österreichische Eisen- und Stahlwerke AG (VÖEST). |
| 1953 | VÖEST launched a housing and resettlement program and a program to build apartments at its two sites, Krems and Liezen. |
