1938 Reichswerke Aktiengesellschaft für Erzbergbau und Eisenhütten ‘Hermann Göring (a subsidiary of the Berlin-based German industrial conglomerate, Reichswerke AG) was established in 1938.
1945 The Linz factories are seized by the U.S. military in their capacity as “German assets” and renamed Vereinigte Österreichische Eisen- und Stahlwerke AG (VÖEST).
1953 VÖEST launched a housing and resettlement program and a program to build apartments at its two sites, Krems and Liezen.
