The Survey of American Lawyers at Major Law Firms: Use of Tablet Computers

The study is based on a representative sample of 256 lawyers at 104 law firms in the United States with more than 25 lawyers. Approximately 60% of the survey participants are from firms with more than 100 lawyers. The 100-page report presents extensive data on the extent and types of uses of tablet computers at large and medium-sized American law firms. The study helps its readers to answer questions such as: what percentage of lawyers are supplied with a table computer by their law firms? How are tablets being used? Do lawyers believe that tablets help them to increase billable hours? If so, how? What are their favorite apps? How much legal research is being done with tablets? What kinds of peripherals are being used with tablets? What types of legal specialties are using tablets the most? Do associates or partners use tablets more? The report also includes some data on uses of other mobile devices such as laptops and smartphones, to which the uses of tablets are compared and analyzed.
