WELLESLEY, Mass., May 17, 2018 – Aesthetic medicine is driven by patients seeking to enjoy life to the fullest, be fit, and minimize the effects of natural aging. In a new study, BCC Research examines the global market for medical aesthetic devices—forecast to reach $25.1 billion by 2022—by type, end user and region.
Lasers and energy emitting devices are expected to lead the market during BCC Research’s forecast period of 2017–2022, with a projected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.5%. Facial aesthetic devices represent the second leading market segment, with an expected CAGR of 13.0% from 2017 to 2022. From $13.5 billion in 2017, worldwide growth of the entire market is predicted at a five-year CAGR of 13.1%, according to the report Medical Aesthetic Devices: Technologies and Global Markets.
In BCC Research’s study, the field is also captured by regions, including North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Rest of the World. North America was the largest segment in 2017 and is expected to lead the global market with a five-year CAGR of 12.9%.

Aesthetic medicine bridges the gap between beauty and health. In terms of end user experiences, slimming and beauty clinics captured the largest share of the global medical aesthetic devices market in 2017. This segment is expected to have the highest CAGR from 2017 to 2022, at 13.5%.
