Wound healing involves a series of integrated physiological processes. The nature of healing is the same for all wounds, with variations depending on the location, severity and extent of injury. Advanced wound care technology has become a significant part of the wound care products market in recent decades.
New technologies and an increasing older population are two of the major driving forces in the advanced wound care market. There remains a growing appeal in advanced wound care, as opposed to traditional therapies, primarily due to faster healing benefits and reduced patient follow-ups. However, with these technologies comes a higher price tag than for traditional therapies, and this still hinders some areas of the market.
