1907 Asahi Glass Co., Ltd. was established to manufacture flat glasses at its factory in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.
1914 The company's first shipment of sheet glass was exported to England.
1916 The company started in-house production of soda ash, a critical raw material for glass in Japan.
