2006	Avancis GmbH was founded in 2006 as a joint venture between Royal Dutch Shell and Saint-Gobain. It is a German company and a subsidiary of the CNBM group. It focuses on copper indium gallium selenide (CIS) thin-film photovoltaics for building integration.
2014	Avancis was acquired by China National Building Materials (CNBM) Group, a global manufacturer of glass and high-tech building components.
