1952	Baumer was established.
1960	The company expanded its product range with the program control series.
1966	The company was incorporated as Baumer Electric AG.

1970	The company laid down the foundation for its new headquarters in Hummelstrasse.
1972	The company opened its new factory and administration building on Hummelstrasse.
1980	The company expanded its sensor business in Frankfurt.
1981	The company had entered into the photo sensor market.
1984	The company has expanded its factory premises in the last 30 years.
1988	The company was commissioned to manufacture sensors to launch the Ariane rocket in Europe.
1989	Baumer Electric GmbH has moved into its new building in Friedberg.
1996	The company continued to expand its motion control division.
1997	Baumer Optronic GmbH was founded in Radeberg, Germany.
1998	The company acquired an equity stake in System Kurandt GmbH, which specializes in precision sensors for printing and packaging technology.
2002	The company expanded its motion control activities by acquiring Hübner Berlin Group.
2008	The company has opened its new sales office branch, Baumer India Pvt. Ltd., in Pune, India.
2010	The company has constructed new buildings to strengthen its Motion Control Competence Sensor in Berlin.
2011	The company takes over Waaree Instruments Ltd. to expand its Process Instruments product segment in Mumbai, India.
2012	Waaree Instruments Ltd. becomes Baumer Technologies India Pvt. Ltd.
2022	Baumer started the construction activities of the Innovation Center in Switzerland.
