Company Overview

Brainlab is a medical technology company that develops software and hardware for radiotherapy, radiosurgery, and surgical fields. Brainlab offers platforms and software to enable access to improved, more efficient, less invasive, and less expensive treatments for patients undergoing cranial, spinal, trauma, orthopedic, ENT, and CMF surgery. Brainlab technology is in use in over 5,000 hospitals worldwide. Brainlab core software technology allows surgeons to plan and navigate procedures. Brainlab image-guided surgery, robotic assistance, and intraoperative imaging platforms enhance procedures and allow surgeons to realize the full benefits of Brainlab software, enabling maximum capability when combined.

Boston Scientific Corp. has developed image-guided programming software, Vercise Neural Navigator with STIMVIEW XT, in collaboration with Brainlab A. Vercise Neural Navigator enables clinicians to visualize both lead placement and stimulation modeling of the brain anatomy of their patients living with Parkinson’s disease or essential tremor. It integrates into the Vercise Genus programming interface to help localize lead placement, reduce programming time, and enable more informed treatment decisions. In April 2022, it received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval.

Nowadays, Brainlab’s orthopedic surgical navigation is adopted by many surgeons as it improves alignment, reduces revisions, and improves functional outcomes.
