CALPAK
Company Snapshot
Company Overview
Calpak was established in 1976 by BP (British Petroleum) as the BP Cicero Hellas Co. with its manufacturing facility in Corinth. The company chose the brand name of Calpak and quickly captured a majority share of the domestic Greek market. Calpak was later acquired by Andreas Konstantinides Ltd. after BP’s exit from the renewable energy market during the early 1990s. With new ownership, the company began manufacturing more simple, economical and efficient ST collectors and began exporting to other European countries, such as Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, and Ireland.
Calpak manufactures several models of glazed flat plate ST collectors under the “Giga” brand name. The models have different absorber plates with variable efficiencies, including black-painted aluminum absorbers, selectively coated aluminum absorbers and selectively coated copper absorbers. Calpak evacuated tube ST collectors are CEN Solar Keymark certified.
