1992	The Holmes brothers established a public holding company, Chart Industries (for Charles and Arthur), and took it public in an initial public offering (IPO).
1994	Chart Industries acquires CVI Inc., a Columbus, Ohio-based manufacturer of cryogenic vacuum pumps.
1998	Chart Industries supplied BAHX for the first baseload LNG liquefaction plant utilizing the ConocoPhillips Optimized Cascade process.
1999	Chart Industries acquired MVE Holdings (cryogenic storage and transportation equipment), including Czech Republic-based Ferox and CAIRE, a small business specializing in liquid respiratory oxygen equipment.
2006	Chart Industries acquired Cooler Service Co. of Tulsa (air-cooled heat exchangers), along with Happy, Tri-Thermal, and Esex.
2010	Chart Industries acquired SeQual Technologies, Inc., a privately held company headquartered in San Diego that specializes in portable oxygen technology, for approximately $60 million.
2015	Chart Industries acquired Thermax Inc., a provider of cryogenic fluid vaporisers utilised in industrial gas, petrochemical, and LNG applications.
2017	Chart Industries acquired HETSCO, a premier brazed aluminum heat exchanger service and repair company.
2018	Chart Industries acquired Skaff Cryogenics & Cryo-Lease LLC, a company engaged in repair services as well as in remanufacturing of cryogenic tanks, including stationary tanks, micro bulk, portable station, and trailers, from Bob and Steve Prefontaine.
2020	Chart Industries acquired Worthington Industries, Inc.'s cryogenic trailer and hydrogen trailer (transport) assets in Theodore, Alabama, to expand its mobile equipment to larger transports.
2021	Chart Industries acquired Cryogenic Gas Technologies, a supplier of custom cryogenic processing systems and equipment, for $55 million.
2022	Chart Industries acquired Fronti Fabrications, a specialist in engineering, machining, and welding for the cryogenic and gas industries.
2023	FuelCell Energy and Chart Industries collaborated to develop reliable and efficient carbon dioxide (CO2) capture for use or sequestration and generation and storage of gaseous or liquified hydrogen.
2024	GasLog LNG Services Ltd. and Chart Industries partnered to develop a commercial-scale LH2 supply chain from export markets in the Middle East to European and Asian destinations for onward distribution by liquid transportation and/or gas via pipelines to various end users.
