Company Overview

Erasteel is a leading producer of high-speed steels and other special steels and alloys. The company provides numerous nickel, cobalt and other steel alloy powders for laser sintering under the Pear Micro trade. Erasteel offers several types of stainless-steel powders. It has eight production sites and 12 sales offices across all continents in the U.K., Sweden, Japan, Korea, U.S., India and China.

For 3D printing, the company offers a range of metal powder within the Pear Micro brand:

• Superalloys (nickel and cobalt-based).
• Non-ferrous alloys, such as silver and copper.
• Stainless steel.

For the 3D printing market, the company uses vacuum induction melting (VIM), a gas atomization process. In this process, the metal is dissolved in a vacuum chamber and in the next stage, it is atomized in the form of fine droplets via argon and nitrogen gas jets. The droplets cool down and are collected at the bottom of the tower.
