Global Biochem Technology Group Co. Ltd., an investment holding company, manufactures, sells and trades in corn-refined products and corn-based biochemical products, primarily in Mainland China. It operates through four segments: Upstream Products, Amino Acids, Polyol Chemicals, and Corn Sweeteners.

Global BioChem has been a leading corn processor in China, producing amino acids and polyol chemicals from corn and a world leader in lysine production. Global BioChem Technology Group (GBT) was founded in 1994 with the goal of becoming a leading processor of corn and value-added products from corn in China. The Dacheng Industry Group of companies was formed in 1996 to manage the production and commercial operations and includes manufacturing facilities in five industrial parks in China: Changchun, Dehui, Jinzhou, Shanghai, and Xinglongshan.

In 2021, the company suspended its production of amino acids to minimize the pressure on cash flow. There are many macroeconomic factors which are affecting the operations of amino acids in Global Biochem Technology group. The company has been negatively affected by the COVID pandemic.
