Company Overview
Hocoma AG, founded in 1996, is a developer, manufacturer, and marketer of robotic and sensor-based devices for functional movement therapy. The company’s primary goal is the improvement of the treatment of neurological patients. The company’s products serve patients looking for the following medicines: upper extremities, lower extremities, early rehabilitation, and back treatment. The solutions provided by the company are intensive locomotion therapy; functional therapy of the upper extremities; patient mobilization in early rehabilitation programs; functional over-ground gait therapy with dynamic body weight support; and functional movement therapy for lower back pain treatment.
Hocoma’s product portfolios are categorized into Lokomat-Robotic Gait Therapy; LokomatPro with FreeD; Andago - new perspectives in functional gait therapy; Armeo Therapy Concept - arm and hand therapy; Erigo - innovation for early rehabilitation programs; and Valedo therapy concept - for a healthy back.
Lokomat robotic gait therapy is used to assist in the walking movements of gait-impaired patients and mobility in individuals following stroke, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, and other neurological diseases and injuries. LokomatPro with FreeD is used to improve Lokomat robotic gait therapy by enabling lateral translation and transverse rotation of the pelvis. Andago is used for upright, hands-free walking without spatial limitations of the body weight support. Armeo is used to motivate the patients from within and thus rely less on the therapist. Erigo is used to improve muscle strength in lower extremities and cerebral blood flow. Valedo is used to provide a continuous solution for spine assessment to therapy.
