1920	Mr. Heikki Huhtamaki established Huhtamaki Industries in 1920 in Kokkola, Finland.
1932	The company has acquired confectionery manufacturers Hellas.
1940	Ipnos, Jalostaga, and Huhtamaki Hellas merged and formed a company called Huhtamaki-yhtyma Oy.
1946	It has acquired berry wines produces Marli company.
1948	Founded a pharmaceutical company called Leiras.
1954	The company started a cosmetics production company, Fincos.
1960	With the acquisition of Mensa, it entered the packaging industry.
1965	Established Polarpark Promoted Packaging from a supporting function into a separate business line.
1975	The company name is renamed from Huhtamaki-yhtyma Oy to Huhtamaki Oy.
1987	Huhtamaki Oy has acquired Bellaplast.
1988	The company's packaging segment name was changed from Polarpark to Polarcup.
1998	It has acquired Sealright company.
1999	The company has acquired Van Leer.
2012	Huhtamaki Oy has acquired Chinese food service packaging supplier Josco.
2015	Acquired an Indian-based flexible packaging company called Positive Packaging.
