It has produced key minerals containing andalusite, bentonite, calcium carbonate, carbon black, diatomite, graphite, lithium, and mullite in the global market. It operates its business through five major segments, including performance minerals, solutions for refractory, abrasives, and construction, Imerys graphite and carbon, the quartz corporation, and others. Under the Imerys graphite and carbon segment, it develops synthetic graphite and natural graphite specifically for lithium-ion and alkaline batteries. It has a presence in more than 40 countries and is targeting Belgium, Canada, and Switzerland for the graphite business.
