Company Overview
Industrial Battery Engineering (IBE) manufactures and markets Japanese firm Hitachi Maxell’s lithium-ion and lithium-ion polymer, and other rechargeable lithium batteries, especially models optimized for portable product applications. The company also markets lithium-ion polymer industrial vehicle batteries.
IBE batteries are often marketed as ‘Power-Plus’ batteries. The company designed and manufactured the world’s first fire-safe rechargeable lithium battery system. It was developed for Cairns & Brother’s new CairnsViper handheld thermal imaging system for firefighting. The battery provided up to 90 minutes of continuous operation, will not explode or emit harmful gas materials at elevated temperatures, and will not burn unless it comes in direct contact with a flame. The battery has minimal self-discharge, no memory effect, and can be recharged up to 1,000 times.
