1971	Hideo Ozawa established NIDEK CO. LTD. to meet social requirements for specialized eye care.
1972	With the development of the Xenon Photocoagulator, the company entered into the industry of ophthalmic devices.
1979	NIDEK established NIDEK SALES CO. LTD. as an independent sales organization in Japan.
1980	NIDEK developed an auto refractometer AR-2000 to measure the eye's refraction when making eyeglasses.
1989	The company introduced lens edging systems with the launch of the LE-8000, a patternless edger.
1992	NIDEK introduced EC-5000, an excimer laser corneal refraction corrective device to ablate corneal tissue to change the refractive power of the eyes to treat myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism.
2001	NIDEK Established NIDEK TECHNOLOGIES S.R.L. (ITALY) and NIDEK TECHNOLOGIES AMERICA INC. (U.S.)
2009	NIDEK introduced RS-3000, an Advanced OCT / SLO System, a spectral domain OCT made by Japan.
2012	NIDEK Launched the endothelial cell photographing device CEM-530 PARACENTRAL, the paracentral imaging function.
2018	The company founded NIDEK MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS(CHANGSHU) CO., LTD. in China.
2019	NIDEK launched the Mirante Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope, a multimodal fundus imaging platform that integrates high-definition S.L.O. and OCT with ultra-wide-field imaging.
2021	The company introduced Ocural, one of ophthalmology's second regenerative medicine products.
2022	NIDEK TECHNOLOGIES S.R.L., a subsidiary of NIDEK CO. LTD., acquired 90% of the shares of NIDEK MEDICAL S.R.L., an ophthalmic device sales and service company.
2023	NIDEK launched NP-1/NP-1C Preloaded IOL Injection System designed for smoother, safer, and more secure IOL implantation.
