1999	PetroChina Company Ltd. was established upon restructuring the former China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC).
2016	CNPC and China FAW Group Corporation (FAW) signed an agreement to bolster collaboration in member services, marketing, lubricant R&D, internet car, and new energy automobiles.
	CNPC signed an agreement with Mozambique's national oil and gas company ENH. Under the agreement, both companies will ramp up collaborative efforts in oil and gas exploration, production, and natural gas processing and marketing.
2017	CNPC and China Aerospace Science & Industry Corporation (CASIC) signed an agreement to deepen strategic cooperation in the Internet, intelligent manufacturing, petroleum equipment and services, and supply of petroleum and petrochemical products.
	CNPC and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) signed an MOU to strengthen cooperation in oil and gas blocks, gas field development, and oil storage facility construction.
2018	CNPC signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with ADNOC. Under the agreement, both organizations will develop existing cooperation and carry out all-round cooperation in upstream, downstream, trade and marketing, and technical support.
2021	CNPC and Sinopec signed an agreement as an opportunity to comprehensively deepen cooperation in the oil and gas business, new energy, informatization, and digitization and jointly open a new journey of high-quality development.
2023	CNPC signed an agreement with QatarEnergy on Qatar's North Field East LNG expansion project in Doha. Under the agreement, QatarEnergy will supply CNPC with 4 million tons of LNG yearly for 27 years and transfer CNPC a 1.3% share in the project.
