1991	PolyPlus was founded upon the invention of the lithium/organosulfur battery at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
2000	PolyPlus invented and patented the protected lithium electrode (PLE).
2011	PolyPlus developed the first water-activated lithium battery, specifically a lithium-seawater battery, using their patented Protected Lithium Electrode (PLE) technology.
2017	PolyPlus introduced glass-protected Li metal batteries that enhanced battery safety, prevented short circuits, and significantly improved energy density and lifespan compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries.
2019	PolyPlus partnered with SK Innovation Co. Ltd., Korea's energy and chemical company, to produce and test prototype cells that demonstrate increased volumetric and gravimetric energy density and cycle life relative to existing Li-ion cells.
