PSM NORTH AMERICA
Company Snapshot
Company Overview
The company produces Plastarch Material (PSM), a resin produced from corn starch design supplement that replaces conformist petroleum-based plastics. The manufacturing process converts corn starch into materials that have the properties of plastic.
The company offers several other natural modifying agents that include the bio-based compostable HL-300 series and bio-based HL-100 series. The HI-300 series materials are fully compliant with ASTM D-6400 and EN-13432 compostability standards. The HL-100 resins have the properties of traditional resins by blending with renewable resources. The major end-use applications of the PSM resins are food packaging (including microwave containers), industrial packaging, medical products and disposable items. Superior heat resistivity and easy processability mean the product can be processed through thermoforming, injection molding, blown film and foaming applications.
The granular resin product offerings of the company:
- Bio-based resins: HL-101 blown film formulation, HL-102 extrusion/sheet formulation, HL-103 injection mold grade, HL-104 foaming grade.
- Biodegradable/compostable resin: HL-301 blown film formulation, HL-302 extrusion/sheet formulation, HL-303 injection mold series, HL-304 foaming grade.
