The Global Market for Composites: Resins, Fillers, Reinforcements, Natural Fibers and Nanocomposites (PLS029H)
Fiberglass yarns
It consists of a defined number of E-Glass filaments of a certain nominal diameter, brought together to form a yarn. It offers fire resistance, low thermal conductivity, compatibility with organic matrices, and three times higher specific resistance than steel. Its application areas include various industries like aerospace, automotive, construction, electronics, wind energy etc.
Textile chopped strands
These are made from continuous E-Glass filaments treated with textile size (starch/oil-based). The filament strands are chopped in a determined length from 3mm up to 24mm max. Major applications include construction and industrial sectors.
Quartzel Yarns
These are assemblies of 9 or 14-micron continuous fused silica filaments assembled and twisted. They are essentially used for their combined low dielectric properties, high mechanical strength and high thermal resistance. Its application areas include aircraft nose radomes, Satcom radomes, fire protection materials etc.
