1980	Sarepta Therapeutics, Inc. was founded on July 22, 1980. The company was originally incorporated as AntiVirals but changed its name to AVI BioPharma before going public. In July 2012, it changed its name again to Sarepta Therapeutics.
2006	AVI BioPharma and Ercole Biotech collaborated to identify and develop drugs that direct messenger RNA (mRNA) splicing to treat various genetic and acquired diseases.
2007	The company acquired privately held Ercole Biotech, Inc., a pioneer in developing drugs that direct alternative RNA splicing.
2023	The company got FDA approval for ELEVIDYS, the first gene therapy to treat Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
