2011 Solid Power Inc. was founded by Doug Campbell, Conrad Stoldt, and Sehee Lee and spun out from the University of Colorado Boulder with funding from DARPA.
2014 Solid Power and its subcontracting partners received a $4.5 million grant from ARPA-E (Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy) to develop high-energy, low-cost solid-state rechargeable batteries for the aerospace industry.
2015 The Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Solid Power Inc. of Louisville, Colo., have signed an exclusive agreement licensing lithium-sulfur materials for next-generation batteries.
