1930	The company was founded when Berg-Heckmann-Selve AG headquartered in Altena took over Heddernheimer Kupferwerk and Süddeutsche Kabelwerk AG in Frankfurt.
1960s	The company steadily lost market share in different markets, such as production of copper and brass tubes, copper sheet, and aluminum rolled products.
1988/1989	Krupp Stahl AG took one third of VDM Nickel-Technologie AG which later on to a 100% stake in the company with an established global presence, whose high-performance alloys were used worldwide.
2020	Acerinox, S.A. a stainless steel manufacturing group acquired VDM Metals GmbH in transaction valued at $607.6 million.
