1955	Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. was founded with Genichi Kawakami as its first President. The company established Nippon Gakki Hamana Factory and started producing the 125cc Yamaha motorcycle "YA-1."
1960	Yamaha International Corporation (YIC) was founded in the U.S. as a subsidiary of Nippon Gakki and began selling Yamaha Motor products.
1971	Yamaha founded Haraban Motor Co. in Indonesia in a tie-up with Haraban Co., and local motorcycle production began in Indonesia.
1985	Yamaha signed an integration of technology and trade contract with China National Automotive Industry Import & Export Corporation to sell CBU vehicles.
2006	Yamaha Motor began mass-producing microalgae at a factory in Fukuroi, Shizuoka, as a source for the high-potential health additive Astaxanthin.
2011	Yamaha Motor collaborated with Toyota Motor Corp. on developing Communications-Linked Vehicles to create new mobility for the general public.
2020	Yamaha Motor established a regional headquarters in Thailand to oversee robotics business expansion in Southeast Asia and to strengthen robotics services and marketing throughout the region.
2023	Through its antibody profiling business, Yamaha Motor established Tuning Fork Bio Inc. in Delaware, U.S., to analyze the antibodies in blood and better visualize people's health conditions.
2024	Yamaha Motor acquired Marine electric propulsion manufacturer Torqeedo to bolster competitiveness and accelerate carbon neutrality efforts in the electric field of the company's Marine CASE strategy.
2025	Yamaha Motor acquired Telwater Pty Ltd., an Australian boat manufacturer, expanding sales networks and strengthening the marine business's foundations.
