April 01, 2014

Wellesley, Mass., May 1, 2014 –BCC Research (www.bccresearch.com) reveals in its new report,INDUSTRIAL BOILERS: TECHNOLOGIES AND DEVELOPING MARKETS, the global industrial boilers market is expected to grow to nearly $12.5 billion  by 2018, with a  five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.9%. The steam-generating industrial boilers category, the largest and fastest in the market, is moving at a CAGR of 6.1%.

Growth in the overall market will occur for boiler technologies that produce hot water as well as steam, although growth for steam producing boilers, which includes waterwall, watertube, firetube, and fluidized bed boilers, will be more rapid. Indeed, the steam-generating segment comprises the largest of the industrial boilers category, which is expected to reach $11.6 billion by 2018.

However, the market for hot water industrial boilers alone is much smaller expected to grow significantly slower over the near term. This market is projected to reach $803.3 million and register a CAGR of 2.8% by 2018.

"Industrial boilers markets generally fall into one of two major categories: mature markets common in developed countries and regions, and developing markets that occur where economies are transitioning towards industrialization," said BCC Research manufacturing analyst Robert Eckard. "The global dichotomy in markets is driving strong growth in emerging markets, founded on underlying development of industry and industry supply chains.”
