History
| Year | Detail |
|---|---|
| 1983 | Employees of the Institute for Semiconductor Technology at RWTH Aachen founded the company. |
| 1999 | AIXTRON was formed when it took over the Thomas Swan Scientific Equipment Division. This acquisition gave AIXTRON the rights to the company's existing Close Coupled Showerhead (CCS) technology for its Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) systems, including the service business. |
| 2005 | AIXTRON, a German company, acquired Genus Inc., a U.S. deposition equipment company. This acquisition was followed by integrating Genus's technology, which included its expertise in deposition, like atomic layer deposition (ALD), for the silicon and data storage industries. |
| 2014 | The company launched its new AIX R6 Showerhead reactor, a Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) system specifically designed to meet LED mass production's high-throughput and efficiency needs. |
| 2023 | The company unveiled its G10-GaN and G10-AsP systems in 2022, following the G10-SiC, completing AIXTRON's G10 product family. The new product line features advanced cluster solutions for manufacturing compound semiconductors in power electronics, optoelectronics, and advanced displays. |
