Apostle Sciences (APOSTLE INC.)
Company Snapshot
Company Overview
Apostle Inc. is developing liquid biopsy-based early cancer detection technologies. The technologies used include artificial intelligence and nanoparticle reagents to capture ctDNA.
The company markets cfDNA isolation kits under the MiniMax trade name. The MiniMax magnetic nanoparticles have a novel material composition and surface chemistry, large surface area, minimized variation, good suspension property, high magnetic power, and resistance to particle clustering. The kit runs across a range of volume inputs while recovering high quantities of cfDNA and effectively removing contaminants.
The company’s MiniEnrich system physically enriches and separates short cfDNA fragments. This technology can capture cfDNA fragments as short as 20 base pairs, providing the resolution needed to detect disease.
In February 2019, Apostle formed an alliance with Beckman Coulter covering the exclusive marketing of the MiniMax High Efficiency Cell-Free DNA isolation kit. Based on this relationship, Beckman Coulter entered the liquid biopsy sample preparation market and began offering the product as part of its portfolio of genomic reagents and liquid handling platforms.
