Company Overview
Established in 1974, Apotex Inc. is one of Canada’s largest pharmaceutical companies. The Apotex group of companies has over 8,000 employees and occupies over 3.4 million ft2 in Montreal, Richmond Hill, Toronto, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Brantford, Windsor, Winnipeg, London, Calgary and Vancouver. Globally, the company produces approximately 25 billion doses per year. Its products are exported to more than 115 countries. Along with developing generic drugs, the company diversified into other healthcare areas, including R&D, manufacturing of fine chemicals, non-prescription and private-label medicines and disposable plastics for medical use.
Apotex develops numerous products used for the treatment of progressive ataxia, progressive weakness and atrophy and MS. These products include risperidone, clonazepam, sertraline hydrochloride, nefazodone hydrochloride, Haloperidol, Carbidopa and Levodopa, Eldepryl, selegiline hydrochloride, deferiprone, tizanidine, gabapentin, generic Tegretol (carbamazepine) and alfuzosin hydrochloride.
