Bioneer, founded in 1992, develops, manufactures, and markets molecular diagnostic products, gene therapy drugs, and genetic engineering research products. A key product area for research products is DNA synthesis, including synthetic genes and DNA constructs.
Bioneer is one of the world’s lowest-cost producers of oligonucleotides. Among gene synthesis companies, Bioneer is fully integrated into the value chain as it produces the amidite building blocks as well as the oligonucleotides. This gives the company a cost advantage in this market segment.
Other products for the genomic tools markets include PCR equipment and reagents, as well as DNA and RNA extraction and amplification kits.
In addition to its plants in South Korea, the company has a production plant in Oakland, Calif., and a sales and marketing office in the U.K.
