Activated carbon

Activated carbon mainly consists of carbon in a concentration of mostly over 90 percent. It is primarily used as an adsorbent to remove undesirable flavors, colors, pollutants or odors from liquids, vapors, and gases. It is also used in solvent recovery, purification of biogas, exhaust gas desulphurization and gas separation. Steam activation is used to create CarboTech C 40/4 extruded activated carbon from specific low-ash mineral coal. Its pore structure results from the unique fluidized-bed activation technique that makes it ideal for use in solvent recovery.
