Category Product Brand Description
Advanced Ceramics and Nanoceramic Powders (NAN015K)
Aluminum Oxide (Al2O3)
It is characterized by thermal stability, high hardness, and exceptional corrosion resistance. It is used in electronics for substrates and insulating materials due to its high electrical insulation capacity and thermal conductivity. In medical applications, it is used as an implant material due to its biocompatibility and wear resistance. It is also used as a protective layer in batteries in semiconductor production and energy storage. It is also used as an abrasive due to its hardness and its resistance to chemical attack.
Aluminum Titanate (Al2TiO5)
It offers very good thermal shock resistance. Components made from this material can withstand abrupt temperature changes of several hundred degrees without damage. The very low thermal expansion and a certain porosity in the structure results in good thermal shock resistance. The low wettability of aluminum titanate (Al2TiO5) with molten metals makes it ideal for use in foundry technology and metallurgical melting. In the future, it can be used mainly in automotive and energy technology, for exhaust gas aftertreatment, and thermal insulation of fuel cell components.
Mixed Ceramics/Dispersion Ceramics
Dispersion ceramics or oxide ceramic composites are mixtures of different ceramic base materials that have been developed to improve and optimize certain properties. These include aluminum oxide-reinforced zirconia (ATZ) and zirconia-reinforced aluminum oxide (ZTA). Both alumina and zirconia-based ceramic oxides have been used as biomaterials due to their high wear resistance and excellent biological behavior. The ceramic composites offer the hardness and wear resistance of aluminum oxide, and the fracture toughness of zirconium oxide. These can be used mainly in orthopedic joint replacement, cutting materials, and tool systems for machining.
