1896 The enterprising father and son team of A.J. and George A. Briggs partnered with S.A. Buffington to establish Chicago Telephone Supply Co., which later became CTS Corp.
1902 The company founded a facility 100 miles east of Chicago in Elkhart, Indiana. 
1920s Chicago Telephone Supply Co. started re-inventing telephone products such as jacks, plugs, and headphones for the emerging radio market.
1940s Chicago Telephone Supply Co. implemented the technology of variable resistors and switches in the new television market.
1958 The company introduced Cermet, a new type of stable resistance element, to meet the demand for miniaturized applications in the computer and military industries and secure CTS’ participation in electronic markets.

2007 CTS Corp. acquired Alpha Ceramics, a provider of piezoceramic materials for sensor and transducer manufacturers, to enhance its leading position in piezoceramics with a unique range of capabilities globally.
2008 The company acquired Tusonix, Inc., a manufacturer in Nogales, Mexico, and integrated electromagnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI) filter components into its product family.
2012 CTS Corp. acquired Valpey-Fisher Corp., one of the leading providers of precision frequency crystal oscillators, to expand CTS’ technology and engineering capabilities.
