| 1951 | Hindustan Aircraft Ltd was placed under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. |
| 1964 | Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd was established as a result of the amalgamation of Hindustan Aircraft Ltd and Aeronautics India Ltd, both issued by the Government of India. |
| 1979 | HAL signed an agreement with British Aerospace and started manufacturing ‘Jaguar’ aircraft, and with Rolls-Royce-Turbomeca for Adour engines. |
| 2020 | HAL and New Space Research and Technologies Pvt Ltd signed an agreement for joint development and manufacturing of various products and systems in the area of unmanned systems, swarm technology, and space systems at DefExpo 2020. |
| 2025 | HAL signed the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) technology transfer agreement with Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). |
