Hystar specializes in developing PEM electrolyzers for green hydrogen production. Founded in 2021 as a spin-off from SINTEF, one of Europe’s foremost research institutes, the company focuses on developing efficient PEM electrolyzers to make hydrogen production more affordable. It offers a range of individual stacks with a capacity of 0.7 MW to integrated plants operating in the 10 MW to 100 MW range. Customers can scale and tailor the systems for different applications by combining individual stacks into modules or integrated plants. The company uses its patented technology by combining knowledge from the fuel cell industry with electrolyzer technology, and it claims that its system can produce at least three times more hydrogen than a conventional PEM electrolyzer.
