1896	Kawasaki Tsukiji Shipyard was founded in 1878 by Shozo Kawasaki which later on was incorporated as Kawasaki Dockyard Co., Ltd.
1897	Kawasaki Dockyard completed a cargo-passenger ship, Iyomaru (727 GT), its first ship after becoming a publicly traded company.
1906	Kawasaki completed and delivered the first two submarines no. 6 and 7 to the Navy in Japan.
1922	Kawasaki completed its first airplane at its Hyogo works, and conducted test flights in Sohara Village (currently Kakamigahara City), Gifu Prefecture.
1934	The company (Kawasaki Rolling Stock Manufacturing) exported a large number of locomotives, passenger coaches, and freight cars to China.
1941	During World War II, the company (Kawasaki Aircraft) manufactured the type 3-1 fighter Hien, the only liquid-cooled fighter developed in Japan during the war.
1952	The company signed a technical agreement with Bell Aircraft Corporation (Bell Helicopter Textron) of the U.S. and completed the development of the Kawasaki-Bell 47D-1 helicopter in Japan.
1968	The company (Kawasaki Aircraft) entered into a technical agreement with Unimation Inc., an industrial robots specialized co. to start the development work.
1969	Kawasaki Dockyard, Kawasaki Rolling Stock Manufacturing, and Kawasaki Aircraft merged to become Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd.
1972	The company introduced the Kawasaki Z1, includes an air-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, 903 cm3, DOHC engine, and comes with an unique mechanism.
1987	Kawasaki received an order for two tunnel boring machines (TBMs) with diameters of 8.17 meters for the underwater railroad for the Channel Tunnel linking Great Britain and the European continent.
2001	The company opened Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp., a fully integrated rolling stock factory inside Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp. (KMM)'s Lincoln Plant in Nebraska, U.S..
2010	Kawasaki Shipbuilding Corp., Kawasaki Precision Machinery Limited (KPM), and Kawasaki Plant Systems, Ltd. (K Plant) are re-merged to form Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd.
2017	Kawasaki opened a production line to manufacture cargo doors for Boeing’s commercial airplane, the 777X, at the Lincoln Plant of Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp., U.S..
