Company Overview
Kureha Corp. produces and sells functional materials, specialty chemicals, and plastics in Japan and internationally. It operates through five segments: advanced materials, specialty chemicals, specialty plastics, construction, and other operations. Its advanced materials segment offers polyphenylene sulfide, polyvinylidene fluoride, processed polyglycolic acid products, carbon fiber, and bead-shaped activated carbon products. Kureha Group operates in 10 countries, and exports currently account for around 25% of total sales. The company has two production sites in Japan that supply the world with specialty products. Kureha supplies its portfolio of petroleum pitch-based bead-shaped activated carbon through the BAC brand to serve numerous industries worldwide.
