Linde Plc produces industrial gases, including atmospheric gases (oxygen, nitrogen, argon, rare gases) and process gases (carbon dioxide, helium, hydrogen, electronic gases, specialty gases, acetylene). The company’s engineering unit also builds process plants for petrochemical, pharmaceutical and gas manufacturing companies. One of Linde’s engineering specialties is designing and building hydrogen-producing partial oxidation units for refineries. The company’s engineering division offers various process plants like air separation plants, hydrogen & synthesis gas plants, petrochemical plants, absorption & membrane plants, etc. The company operates through its five business segments: Americas, EMEA, APAC, Linde Engineering and others.

- Americas : This segment operates production facilities primarily in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Brazil, approximately 350 of which are mainly cryogenic air separation plants, hydrogen plants and carbon dioxide plants.
- EMEA : This segment has production facilities primarily in Germany, the U.K., Eastern Europe, France, Sweden and the Republic of South Africa which include approximately 275 cryogenic air separation plants and carbon dioxide plants.
- APAC : This segment has production facilities located primarily in China, Australia, India, South Korea and Thailand, approximately 230 of which are cryogenic air separation plants and carbon dioxide plants.
- Engineering : This business designs and constructs turnkey process plants for third-party customers as well as for the gases businesses in many locations worldwide, such as air separation, hydrogen, synthesis, olefin and natural gas plants.
