2007 Basell A.F. and Lyondell Chemical Co. merged to develop LyondellBasell Industries, one of the third-largest independent chemical companies worldwide.
2009 LyondellBasell Industries Holdings B.V. was established under Dutch law by deed of incorporation to serve as the new parent holding company for certain subsidiaries of LyondellBasell A.F. S.C.A.
2016 LyondellBasell acquired Zylog Plastalloys to manufacture Hostacom glass fiber-reinforced, mineral-filled filled, and unfilled colored grades and Hifax highly impact thermoplastics olefins. 
2017 LyondellBasell started the construction of its first commercial Hyperzone PE plant in La Porte, Texas, using the company’s new proprietary technology.
2018 LyondellBasell acquired A. Schulman, Inc., a leading supplier of high-performance plastic compounds, composites, and powders worldwide.
