Company Overview

MEMScap, formed in 1997, is a provider of MEMS-based products for industries such as aerospace/defense, medical and biomedical, and optical communications. MEMScap also offers MEMS contract manufacturing services, including deformable mirrors and pressure sensors (in vitro and implantable). The product portfolio for the medical and biomedical areas includes pressure transducers, medical accessories and switches. The MEMS-based products and technology are used in medical equipment such as invasive blood monitoring systems, hemofiltration, post-surgery pressure monitoring, glaucoma monitoring and artificial heart pressure monitoring. The company also supplies, as the contract manufacturer, pressure sensors for spinal pressure monitoring and abdominal aortic aneurisms, including implantable sensors. MEMScap also has developed a magnetic switch in partnership with Given Imaging for use in the latter’s pill cam indicated for gastrointestinal endoscopy.
