Company Overview

Motion Sensors Inc. (MSI) has been manufacturing speed sensors since 1970. Its original sensors were developed to meet the extreme temperature cycling, high shock and vibration demanded by applications in the turbine flow metering industry. Over the years, its product line and expertise has significantly expanded to include a wide range of speed-sensing technologies and industry applications. Motion Sensors specializes in developing and manufacturing sensors and electronics for companies based upon their unique specifications.

The company offers a full range of speed sensor customization options, including thread size and length, interconnection (e.g., connectors, pigtails), national pipe thread (NPT) threading and functional options (e.g., resistance, gauss strength.), with the ability to provide certified versions of legacy speed sensor designs to eliminate time and cost of full qualification (i.e., sensor characteristics equivalent to the legacy sensor).

MSI offers intrinsically safe versions of most speed sensor types, including variable reluctance (VR), Hall-effect, RF, amplified and MR sensors. MSI recently acquired Ceramawire, its long-time supplier of wire for use in its high-temperature VR sensors.
