Company Overview
Nel ASA is a Norway-based fuel cell company founded in 1927. The company provides solutions for producing, storing and distributing renewable-based hydrogen. It consists of electrolyzer production facilities in Norway and the U.S. and one fueling station production facility in Denmark. The company delivered over 3,500 PEM and alkaline electrolyzer solutions to over 80 countries and more than 120 H2Station solutions delivered or to be delivered to 14 countries across the globe. Its Electrolyzer division provides hydrogen production equipment based on alkaline and PEM water electrolysis technology. In 2023, the production capacity at its fully automated electrode manufacturing facility in Herøya has been doubled from 500 MW to 1 GW. The company is also scaling up its other PEM manufacturing facility in Wallingford, Connecticut, to 500 MW. Its fueling division offers hydrogen fueling stations for Fuel Cell E.V.s. Its H2Station manufacturing plant is located in Herning, Denmark.
