1989	Sion Power was founded in 1989 as a spin-off from Brookhaven National Laboratory. It began as a research-driven initiative focused on advanced battery chemistries.
2015	Airbus Defense and Space and Sion Power collaborated to enhance and supply proprietary lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries for use in Airbus Defense and Space’s Zephyr High Altitude Pseudo-Satellite (HAPS) aircraft.
2025	Sion Power partnered with Mühlbauer Group to commercialize its Licerion battery technology by installing a large-format battery cell production line.
