1934	Smurfit Kappa was incorporated as a general box maker in Rathmines, Dublin.
1971	The company acquired 18% of W.J. Noble & Son Ltd, a UK-quoted public company in the print and packaging business, which was considered its first acquisition in the U.K.
1994	The company acquired the paper and paper packaging operations of Compagnie de Saint-Gobain, making it the largest paper-based packaging solutions provider across Europe.
2005	JSG and Kappa collaborated to form the Smurfit Kappa Group, one of the leaders in containerboard and paper grades in Latin America.
2019	Smurfit Kappa expanded its business in Eastern Europe by acquiring two integrated packaging operations in Bulgaria.
2021	Smurfit Kappa acquired Cartones del Pacifico, a leading paper-based packaging company in Peru, which further expanded the company's footprint in Latin America.
2024	Smurfit Kappa and WestRock completed their transaction to combine from Smurfit Westrock, a global leader in sustainable packaging.
