1894	The company produced waterwheel power generators (60 kW) and electric fans.
1895	Company-produced induction motors.
1896	Tokyo Hakunetsu Dentokyuu Seizo Co. Ltd. Established (renamed Tokyo Electric Company in 1899).
1904	Shibaura Engineering Works Co., Ltd. Established.
1915	Manufactured X-ray tubes.
1919	Produced radio transmission tubes.
1921	Invented the double coil electric bulb.
1923	Manufactured 40-ton DC electric locomotive.
1924	Started trial manufacture of cathode-ray tubes and manufactured radio receivers.
1930	Manufactured electric washing machines and refrigerators.
1931	Released vacuum cleaners.
1936	Completed 150kilowatt broadcast transmitter for NHK.
1939	Tokyo Electric Company merged with Shibaura Engineering Works Co. Ltd. and established Tokyo Shibaura Electric Co. Ltd.
1940	Manufactured fluorescent lamp.
1942	They acquired Shibaura Mazda Industry Co. Ltd. and Nippon Medical Electric Co. Ltd.
1943	Absorbed Tokyo Electric Co. Ltd. and Toyo Fire Brick Co. Ltd.
1949	Completed gas turbine for electricity generation.
1952	Completed TV broadcast transmitters and TV microwave relay system.
1955	Acquired Dengyo-sha Prime Mover Works Ltd. and later released electric rice cookers.
1960	Developed color TV.
1961	Acquired Ishikawajima-Shibaura Turbine Co. Ltd.
1963	Completed 12,500kW nuclear power turbine generators.
1967	Completed the world's first automatic zip code reader.
1978	The official English trade name of the company became "Toshiba Corporation."
1984	Japanese official trade name of the company became "Toshiba."
1989	Introduced notebook personal computer Dynabook.
2001	Commercialized the world's first HDD & DVD video recorder.
2003	Transferred electric equipment for manufacturing plants business to TMA Electric Corporation (now Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation).
2006	Acquired Westinghouse's nuclear power business.
2009	They acquired the HDD business from Fujitsu Ltd.
2011	Acquired Landis+Gyr AG and its group of companies and closed Hino Works.
2012	Toshiba Tec Corporation acquired the retail store solutions business of US-based IBM (International Business Machines Corporation).
2017	Opened an Integrated Hydrogen Application Center at Fuchu Complex.
2021	Launched Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) system business.
