Toshiba Corp. is a Japanese company that develops and manufactures electronics and electrical products. It generates revenue from seven business units, including device solutions, infrastructure systems solutions, retail and printing solutions, storage and energy systems solutions, industrial ICT solutions, etc. It focuses on various technologies, such as wireless charging for electric cars. Toshiba Corp. has been working on systems for transmitting power without cables, using magnetic fields. These systems can repower EVs while they're parked over a pad or near a charging surface. Toshiba also conducted field trials of inductive pads for charging electric buses wirelessly. Its goal is to simplify the charging process and make it safe without using plugs or cords. Toshiba’s work involves designing coils, as well as control systems that can be modified to the needs of vehicles and infrastructure. Toshiba Corp. has made its wireless charging research available as part of a larger effort to develop new technology. It has manufacturing facilities in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
