1889 The Unitika Group began in 1889 with the founding of Amagasaki Spinners, a historic first step in the start of Japan's textile industry.
1893 Telephone poles and lines were built and offered to Osaka’s telephone switching station. The company was reorganized from Amagasaki Boseki Ltd. to Amagasaki Boseki Co., Ltd.
1918 Amagasaki Boseki merged with Settsu Boseki, and the company name changed to Dainippon Boseki Co., Ltd.
1969 Nichibo (Dainippon Boseki Co., Ltd.) and Nippon Rayon merged to form Unitika Co., Ltd. 
1997 Tusco was established in Thailand after the company merged with Teijin and began producing and selling polyester spun bond nonwoven fabrics.
2009 The company restructured and integrated into the Clothing Fiber Division and changed the company name from Unitika Tsusho Ltd. to Unitika Trading Co., Ltd.
2011 UMCT Co., Ltd. was established after Unitika merged with Marusan Industry Co., Ltd. and began producing and selling cotton spunlaced nonwoven fabrics.
